The Green Bay Packers had failed to establish the run this season.
Some of that had to do with injuries on the offensive line, but the game script also didn’t help running back Josh Jacobs at times.
That’s why it was refreshing to see his performance in a Week 4 tie against the Dallas Cowboys.
Jacobs had his second career game with at least 70 receiving and 70 rushing yards, which made some franchise history.

Jacobs finished with 86 rushing yards, 71 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
While posting those numbers against the Dallas Cowboys’ defense is nothing to really brag about, you can only play whoever is in front of you.
Moreover, it may have been the breakout performance Jacobs needed after an unexpectedly slow start to the season.
It seemed like it was just a matter of time before he got back to his usual ways.
He’s not to blame for the offensive line’s struggles, and he was regularly getting hit behind the line of scrimmage.
If anything, he deserves a lot of credit for being able to push through contact and gaining a couple of yards when none seemed available.
Getting linemen Aaron Banks and Zach Tom back from injury should be a huge help, and after a bye week, Jacobs will look to maintain his momentum against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6.
